Tomorrow we celebrate Veterans Day and honor our military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Home to the former Eaker Air Force Base, now the National Cold War Center, Mississippi County has a rich and proud military history. 

One of the county’s most celebrated veterans, former Army Chaplain Col. Robert Certain, was recently interviewed by Randall Woods, distinguished professor in the University of Arkansas Fulbright College Department of History for the Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History. Col. Certain spoke about his time stationed at the Blytheville Air Force Base in the early 1970s and his experiences as a POW at the Hanoi Hilton. Watch the full recording below.
