Meet the Neighbors: Jamie and Donnie Wright
Meet Jamie and Donnie Wright, proud residents of Gosnell, Arkansas, since they married in 1985. Mississippi County roots run deep for both of the Wrights, including Jamie, a retired high school mathematics teacher with a passion for education. She spent 31 years shaping young minds at both Blytheville and Gosnell High Schools. Donnie owns NET Systems, a company specializing in security and communication systems. He has served on the Gosnell School Board for 31 years and is currently president of the board.
Together, Jamie and Donnie are great examples of the kind of neighbors you’ll find in Mississippi County. They cherish family time with all their children and grandchildren residing in Mississippi County and are actively involved in their local church. Whether it's enjoying leisurely strolls down Main Street Blytheville, cheering on local sports teams or gathering for Sunday meals with extended family, Jamie and Donnie embody the warmth and camaraderie of their hometown.

Q: What do you do for fun in Mississippi County?
A: The guys enjoy hunting and fishing at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Big Lake Wildlife Management Area. They have also been known to play a few rounds of golf. The girls like to shop on Main Street and get coffee together. As a family, we have spent countless hours at the Blytheville Sportsplex with our kids, and we are now watching the grands play there. We love watching the local school teams play ball, especially the Gosnell Pirates.
We are so fortunate to have all of our children living and working in Mississippi County, so we spend a lot of time together. We all worship together each Sunday at Gosnell Baptist Church.
Q: Where do you like to eat in Mississippi County?
A: We love our Dixie Pig and Kream Kastle and try to get some barbecue every week. Our extended family eats together every Sunday after church at one of the local Mexican restaurants, Pizza Inn in Blytheville or Perkins, also in Blytheville.
Q: What are some of your favorite things about this area?
A: The people and our community, our local schools and Arkansas Northeastern College (ANC) are the county's biggest assets. ANC graduates have the highest starting salaries in the state of any two- or four-year school, including the medical schools
Q: Anything else you want people to know about Mississippi County?
A: Our county is full of people dedicated to their hometowns, yet we all will get behind one another in a heartbeat when there is a need for support.
