Meet the Neighbors: Seth Wyatt

Having committed, friendly neighbors is important for any thriving community, and you will find that in Mississippi County. Seth Wyatt, a 25-year-old Mississippi County native, epitomizes the spirit of entrepreneurship and community resilience. Born and raised in Blytheville, Seth's roots run deep. He attended Armorel High School and started his career journey as an electrician at Nucor-Yamato Steel.

Seth's ambitions extend far beyond his day job. In October 2022, he seized the opportunity to breathe new life into a beloved local institution, becoming the franchisee of Pizza Inn. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Seth's strategic vision and hard work earned impressive revenue growth in the first year, a testament to his dedication to both tradition and innovation.

But Seth's entrepreneurial spirit doesn't stop there. With a keen eye for real estate opportunities, he has invested in and revitalized several properties downtown, including a nostalgic building that once housed his grandfather's music store. Seth's commitment to preserving the heritage of his hometown while driving economic growth is evident in his projects, such as the R Shalom Venue and Delta Marketplace, which contribute to the vibrant tapestry of Blytheville.

Read on to learn more about Seth and why he calls Mississippi County home:

Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I wear a few hats around here. By day, I'm a maintenance electrician at Nucor-Yamato Steel Company. I am also the franchisee of Pizza Inn in Blytheville, a childhood favorite spot of mine. Beyond that, I dabble in real estate, managing a portfolio of rental properties and commercial buildings, including some nostalgic ones downtown.

Q: Tell us about Pizza Inn.

A: There’s no other pizza place in Mississippi County like it. We’ve got a family-friendly environment, arcade games and all the different dessert pizzas. You can get a slice or two of regular pizza and a slice or two of dessert pizza. And the salad bar is our hidden treasure. Our employees will make you feel welcome, and we all care about our community.

Q: What do you do for fun in Mississippi County?

A: My main pastime, and I should probably quit because I’m not any good, is golf. I’m a member of Blytheville Country Club, and I talked a few of my buddies into joining about a year ago. Anytime I get a chance, I get out there with them. I’m also a member of the local youth softball and baseball booster club board and love spending time with kids and helping out however I can at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex. We have eight baseball and softball fields, plus four soccer fields, two fishing ponds and a walking trail set out over 50 acres. Being out there is fun to me. We are blessed to have such a great complex.

Q: Where do you like to eat in Mississippi County?
A: Well, of course, I’ve got to put in a plug for the Pizza Inn. I grew up going there as a kid and jumped at the opportunity to buy it in October 2022. You’ve got the Dixie Pig and Kream Kastle, which are icons, but my go-to is Las Brisas Mexican Restaurant. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I grew up with the family who owns it, and I’ve been going at least twice a week since junior high.

Q: What are some of your favorite things about this area?
A: There is so much opportunity here, and great people have stayed to invest and grow Mississippi County. People who have left will come back and not recognize how things have changed. We are investing in Main Street, and more businesses are there than you’ve seen in 20-30 years. We’re building new houses and seeing more growth than several decades before. You might not see all of the change overnight, but these last five years have been the start of something special for Blytheville and Mississippi County.

Q: What does a typical Saturday look like for you?
A: My perfect Saturday in Mississippi County starts with me waking up and playing a round of golf at the country club with friends. We’ll probably grab lunch after at Las Brisas and then head south to Wilson to hit some of the shops and just have a nice, relaxing day before dinner at Wilson Cafe. Once we’ve wrapped that up, I’ll head to my dad’s house for dessert and quality time with family and friends. I’m fortunate to get a lot of those perfect Saturdays.
