Q: When did you start Sierra Group Roofing & Solar in Mississippi County? Tell us more about it and the services you provide.

A: I saw the age gap of the existing baby-boomer contractors and the local need for reputable roofing services in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, and I knew we could fill that gap. We officially launched in 2017 after part-time entrepreneurship for a few years. Through COVID-19, we seized the opportunity to invest in multi-family real estate to help with the housing crisis in the county. Thanks to the local steel mills, we were also able to launch a metal manufacturing business that roll-forms all metal roofing and siding products on-site, minimizing handling and staging errors and theft.

Q: Can you share more about your family?

A: I am married to my wonderful wife, Victoria Sierra. We have three boys, Preston, Karson and Tomas.

Q: What do you do for fun in Mississippi County?

A: We take our side-by-side to the backroads with our family and enjoy the Mississippi River views.

Q: Where do you like to eat in Mississippi County?

A: I’ll take the beef tip plate from Yank’s Famous Barbecue any day of the week.

Q: What are some of your favorite things about this area?

A: I love the resilience and can-do attitude of the people. It becomes contagious in a great way.

Q: Do you have any favorite local festivals or events?

A: The National Cold War Museum Party, the Blytheville and Osceola Chamber Banquets, and all the events in Wilson – Cotton Fest, Wilson Winter Wonderland and others – are always a hit.

Q: What’s something that might surprise people about Mississippi County?

A: People may be surprised by the true Southern hospitality of locals and their willingness to help.

Q: Anything else you want people to know about Mississippi County?

A: Mississippi County offers a unique blend of rural charm and opportunity for growth. Despite its challenges, the county's resilience and potential for positive change make it an area ripe for community-driven transformation and economic development.
