Meet the Neighbors: Marybeth Byrd

When it comes to quality of life, having good neighbors ranks right up there with access to a high-caliber education and family-friendly amenities. Fortunately, Mississippi County is home to all of that and more!

In our latest Meet the Neighbors profile, we’re happy to introduce you to singer songwriter Marybeth Byrd. A native of Armorel, she is one of the standout country singers in 'American Idol' season 21's top 10. Marybeth was also a contestant on ‘The Voice’ season 17. She now performs at various venues, teaches vocal lessons, makes dozens of appearances and works on original music.

When she’s not singing and writing songs, she and her boyfriend, Canon Walling, care for their 10-week-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Koda, and enjoy all the hidden gems Northeast Arkansas has to offer.

Read on to learn more about Marybeth and what she loves most about Mississippi County.

Q: What do you do for fun in Miss Co?

A: My favorite thing to do in Mississippi County – and it’s why I love to call it home over a big city – is to ride around at sunset, go eat a nice meal, go bowling and go to our family’s house. There’s opportunity, yet simplicity here.

Q: Where do you like to eat in Miss Co?

A: Blytheville is home to some of my favorites! I love a good steak from Olympia Steak and Seafood and the chicken, cheese and rice from Las Brisas! OMG That’s Sweet also has a delicious turkey roll-up and weekly specials that my mom and I get every chance we have. Also, OF COURSE, the buffalo chicken pizza from Pizza Inn is hands down my go-to. If you know me, you know I’m a coffee person - Traveling Grounds and OSO Family Coffee Company are my favorites!

Q: Where do you like to shop in Miss Co?

A: I love to shop at Me & My Sister, and I love to come home and try out the other new amazing small businesses in our beautiful downtown Blytheville area!

Q: What’s something that might surprise people about Miss Co?

A: It’s full of the best people and best community.
